In 2001, Jenny Sanderson approached Amy Rose and asked for her help in creating a short piece of work for a circus cabaret. She wanted to do some aerial work with a rope. After several sessions, we both came to the conclusion that the rope was far more interesting if it never actually achieved suspended verticality, but was used instead to evoke images and text that spoke of ineptitude, limitation and aspiration. Furthermore, we realised that, although fit, Jenny was more gifted as a dramatic fool than as an aerialist. So we worked some more and made The Dodo Diaries .

The Dodo Diaries toured for two years to arts centres throughout England and received a very positive response. Our activites now include performing, directing, producing, educational residencies, community projects, teaching and mentoring.
