The phrases of my piece are extracts from a journal I have kept since my son’s birth, and refer to the early months of motherhood (Theo, born 3rd November 2004). The journal began on paper and became a blog when my son was 18 months old. Writing has always been essential to me, both as a means of observation and reflection and as part of my artistic practice.

Initially, the journal was a means to record my son’s development, and a way of remembering our daily lives together, but it has evolved into much more than this.
