Polly and Eva

Ingredients: Cake: Butter, milk, lemon juice, plain flour, bicarbonate of soda, cocoa powder, golden caster sugar, 3 eggs, mystery ingredients by Eva (all edible). Icing: Plain chocolate, white chocolate, golden caster sugar, soured cream.

At heart I am a perfectionist. When I became a mother I found (and still do) it hard to accept that I could no longer do things just as I wanted. My daughter doesn’t know the rules and her spontaneity and freedom fills me with a mixture of panic, massive excitement and envy.
